Student of the Week: Katia Cortes

By Laurie Sutton

Sophomore, Katia Cortes was named Greene Central's Student of the Week for the second week in November.
"I nominated Katia because she is an extremely hard worker," said Principles of Business teacher, James Monroe.
Cortes was nominated for doing all of her work every day and turning it in on time. She has also never absent or tardy.
Cortes appears to be a very quiet person.
"This year is going much better for me than last year," said Cortes.
She is currently enrolled in Art 1, Principles of Business, Biology, and Biomedical Technology.
She is also in the ESL program (English as a Second Language).
Her future plans are to attend East Carolina University in hopes of becoming and Nurse and minoring in psychology.
She is the daughter of Matias and Aida Cortes of Morelia, Michoacan in Mexico.
